IN-LINE FOUR CYLINDER
Powerful 1,043cc liquid-cooled, 4-stroke In-line Four engine pulls strongly from all rpm and does not let up before the redline. The engine delivers superb response, a strong mid-range hit and an intoxicating intake howl. In addition to cleaner emissions for 2020, a change to Electronic Throttle Valves enables the addition of Electronic Cruise Control.
BATTLAX HYPERSPORT S22 tyres contribute to lighter handling, while offering enhanced grip in both dry and wet conditions, which translates to greater rider confidence and enjoyment.
The Ninja 1000SX is fitted with the KQS - Kawasaki Quick Shifter - system. The quick shifter enables clutchless upshifts and downshifts for seamless acceleration and quick and easy deceleration.
An upright riding position, manageable power delivery, and surefooted handling offer the versatility for daily riding, while increased seat comfort, Electronic Cruise Control, and a host of accessories make it even easier to escape for the weekend.
Kawasaki’s electronic cruise control system allows a speed to be maintained with the press of a button. Once activated, the rider does not have to constantly apply the throttle. This reduces stress on the right hand when traveling all day and through restricted speed zones.
Wind protection afforded by the full-fairing bodywork is complemented by a new windshield with four available positions.The windshield is adjustable by hand (without tools).
Plush rider and passenger seats deliver comfort for long hours in the saddle. Accessory seat options are available to cater to rider and passenger preferences..
Kawasaki’s latest IMU-enhanced electronics package, the Ninja 1000SX is equipped with integrated Riding Modes, new 4.3” all-digital TFT colour instrumentation,
and smartphone connectivity.
The Ninja 1000SX has all of the equipment expected in a Sport and Touring motorcycle, including smartphone connectivity through Ridelogy The App.
KTRC (KAWASAKI TRACTION CONTROL)
Three modes cover a wide range of riding conditions, offering either enhanced sport riding performance or the peace of mind to negotiate slippery surfaces with confidence. Feedback from the IMU enables more precise control.
KCMF (KAWASAKI CORNERING MANAGEMENT FUNCTION)
A compact Bosch IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) that gives a real-time picture of chassis orientation. KCMF monitors engine and chassis parameters throughout the corner – from entry, through the apex, to corner exit – modulating brake force and engine power to facilitate smooth transition from acceleration to braking. Assisting riders to stay on line.
Sport, Road, Rain, Rider (manual) - All-inclusive modes that link KTRC and Power Mode allow riders to efficiently set traction control and power delivery to suit a given riding situation.
KIBS (KAWASAKI INTELLIGENT ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM)
Kawasaki’s supersport-grade high-precision brake management system take into account the particular handling characteristics of supersport motorcycles, ensuring highly efficient braking with minimal intrusion during sport riding. KIBS also incorporates corner braking control, modulating brake force to counter the tendency of the bike to stand up when braking mid-corner.
The compact new 4.3” all-digital TFT colour instrumentation gives the cockpit a high-tech, high-grade appearance. with good rider usability through Rideology The App.
ASSIST AND SLIPPER CLUTCH
The clutch uses two types of cams (an assist cam and a slipper cam), offering two functions not available on a standard clutch. When the engine is operating at normal rpm the assist cam functions as a self-servo mechanism, pulling the clutch hub and operating plate together to compress the clutch plates. Resulting in a light clutch lever pull.
CONNECT A SMARTPHONE
Using the smartphone application “RIDEOLOGY THE APP,” a number of functions can be accessed; Vehicle Information, Riding Log, Telephone, Rider Management Modes.
Note: While RIDEOLOGY THE APP needs to be ON & running in the background to be connected to the bike. Do not use while riding.
Electronic Throttle Valves (ETV) enable the ECU to control the volume of fuel (via fuel injectors) and air (via throttle valves) delivered to the engine. Ideal fuel injection and throttle valve position results in smooth, natural engine response and the ideal engine output.
The Ninja 1000SX’s suspension settings allow the bike to respond quickly to rider input while soaking up bumps and ruts. ø41 mm inverted front fork features stepless compression and rebound damping and spring preload adjustability.
All-new exhaust system has a 4-into-2-into pre-chamber-into-1 arrangement, contributing to the Ninja 1000SX’s enhanced sporty looks. The single-sided muffler arrangement saves approximately 2 kg in weight (compared to the previous Ninja 1000).
Horizontal Back-link rear suspension positions the shock unit and linkage above the swingarm. Rebound and preload adjustability, with a remote preload adjuster for easy changes to suit tandem riding, luggage or rider preference.
Large, ø300 mm front discs are gripped by opposed 4- piston radial-mount monobloc calipers. The rear brake features a single piston, pin-slide caliper gripping a ø250 mm disc.
